DISTRIBUTION NETWORK MODEL CREATION
JCMB has worked with several top 100 electric utility companies in North America to create a GIS and/or OMS Data Model using all of the customer’s source data. Regardless of the software application selected for GIS and OMS, JCMB has taken full responsibility to capture, consolidate, correct and enhance the entire dataset used to describe the Distribution Network Model.
UNDERGROUND MODELING
The accurate modeling and visualization of underground models has been a challenge to both the GIS and OMS project implementations. Working within the environments of the major application vendors, JCMB has solved the issues to accurately model dense underground distribution networks.
DATA VALIDATION
Electric utility companies have approached JCMB to assist them with the correction and validation of data used for GIS and OMS implementations. This has included automatic and semi-automatic confirmation of a valid connected model.
DATA CORRECTION AND MIGRATION
Electric utility companies have also approached JCMB to assist them with the migration of data from one GIS system to another or from one revision of a system to another. In the process of transporting the data, JCMB has performed data correction (on the fly).
DISTRIBUTION NETWORK MODEL MAINTENANCE
As a result of JCMB’s extensive experience, the production team is also available to maintain a GIS or OMS model remotely at our facility. This usually involves the receipt of work orders, as-built documents or electric revisions that must be captured in the customer’s model, validated and returned to them within a 48 hour period. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
GEOSPATIAL VISUALIZATION
Over the years, JCMB has developed additional expertise in the spatial presentation of the electric model as it exists in the real world. Within the geospatial services, we include thematic map products, specialized publishing products and fire hazard or emergency visualization products.
INTERAPPLICATION DATA TRANSPORT
Through the use of JCMB’s Oracle based “dataport”, JCMB has installed sophisticated data interfaces between numerous distribution applications, such as OMS, GIS, CIS, WMS and asset management. These data interfaces are unique as a result of data manipulation (on the fly). Meaning, the data can be modified, corrected, enhanced as the information is being transferred between applications.
