Data Fusion
For a decade, JCMB has delivered specialized software and services to utility customers – focusing exclusively on DATA. This continuous exposure to the Data challenges of electric, gas and water utilities compelled JCMB to develop tools and techniques to better manage the Data that drives their Distribution Operations.
FUSION™ is a software Framework that offers a full suite of applications built to exploit Data in order to effectively plan, design, build, maintain, share, report and analyze the Distribution Network. This technology provides utilities with an integrated approach to maintaining their infrastructure.
FUSION enables utilities to consolidate disparate Data into a single Oracle™-based repository. All departments can access centralized, quality Data using FUSION applications or their own. The cost-savings attributed to the improved business processes that rely on up-to-date and validated Data can be recognized across the enterprise – from the IT department to the Field Crews and up to executive management who gain confidence in the numbers they are provided.
FUSION’s open-architecture was designed to be used collaboratively with third-party applications; this enables users to easily integrate their legacy applications and co-exist within the FUSION Framework.
Since FUSION is a Microsoft® .NET application that uses Oracle as a data store, it exposes all the power of those combined technologies into one unified development environment. Using the .NET Framework makes it possible to tap into a rich functionality set that connects to many different technologies and standards.
FUSION Applications
FUSION provides utilities with a host of applications that run within a single Framework.
The Operations Series includes Crew Dispatch with Vehicle Location, Outage Visualization, One-Line Schematic Generation and Outage Reporting.
The Mapping Series applications are used to build and maintain a Distribution Network Model with advanced support for complex devices, which are configured to accurately behave like the actual devices in service.
The Mapping Series includes an intelligent network Editor, Reporting module, advanced network Trace capabilities, PrintGrid plotting engine and Markup tools for redlining of facility maps.
FUSION DataPort:
The off-the-shelf Data sharing application is called DataPort. A DataPort can be configured for any database-to-database ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) requirement. Typically, the DataPort is utilized for Data migration from one GIS to the next or to deliver fault-intolerant Data to an Outage Management System. The DataPort has Data Enhancement capabilities that offer an opportunity to systematically correct or enhance Data items as they stream through to their intended target(s).
