The scope of this project was to reconcile multiple source data provided by Hydro-Quebec, convert the data into a single, centralized data repository within a JCMB conversion environment, perform Quality Assurance on the data, and finally transfer the certified data to GE Smallworld, currently being implemented at Hydro-Quebec Distribution.

For a number of years I had been concerned that the electrical system maps that we had in Boulder City, left much to be desired.

We had a mapping system that had been started when the town was first built in the 1930s; the United States Government built the town to serve as the construction camp for Hoover Dam.

Mapping Northeast Utilities’ Underground Network

It’s difficult to appreciate the danger and frustration that underground workers face in their daily tasks. Imagine going to work in the middle of the street where you need cones and a barrier for protection, and maybe even a policeman: where you need to test the manhole cover for stray voltage and the air for dangerous gases.
